Silkay's Brain Tumor
9 Years old girl diagnosed with BSG (Brain stem glioma/DIFFUSE
PONTINE GLIOMA)

- December 1998 Slight Eye squinting appeared.
- February 1999 6th eye nerve paralycing diagnosed by
ophthalmologist and sent to MRI
- March,9 1999 first MRI --DIFFUSE
PONTINE GLIOMA found 1,5 x 2.2 x 2 cm.
- March,10-15 1999 Brain surgents found the tumor
inoperable and very dangerous for biopsy.
- March,14 1999 Pediatric onchologist
suggested chemotherapy and afterwards radiation. Due to
side effects of these treatments and the age of the
patient we declined this opinion.
- March,15-21 1999 (several doctor visits)
Radio onchologists suggested just radiation or radiotion
based therapies.
- March.18 1999 a new neurosurgeon examining the MRI's, he
found the tumor very very big and he said "Very
little time left !! You should begin radiotherapy
immediately."
- March,20 1999 3 tooths taken away which have tooth decay
- March,24 1999 She said "I feel a difference in my
eye since we went dentist"
- March,24 1999 We postpone the decision of classic
treatment options ("chemo"+radiation) for at
least 3 months. MRI follow ups will be done during the
period.
- March,25 1999 We began to use the suggestions from Jeanne M. Wallace
"Nutritional Support for Brain Cancer Report"
- March,28 1999 Silkay went to holiday in a forest for a
week. With her basic nutrition diet.
- April,1 1999 IP-6(3gr/day) Beta 1-3-d glucan (1cap/day)
began Vit.C(1 to 2gr/day) continues.
- April,18 1999 we got the first blood
test results
- April, 20 1999 Silkay and her mother went to a village(Camlik)
at west anatolia. Aim is, "to supply" more
healty conditions and oxygen. And to change the living
style.
- April, 22 1999 At Camlik a phsycian is taking care of
Silkay. She suggested some herbal compounds like ginger,
brocoli and deciding the amounts by the help of O-RING
test. Amounts of IP-6, Beta 1-3-d glucan are also changed
in the same manner.
- April, 24 1999 Silkay began to take milk thistle in order
to normalise high ALT AST values found in blood test.
- Her adaptation to village is very good. Her eye movement
began to normalise.
- May, 7 1999 Second MRI showed no diffrence in size. The
MRI lab is changed so it 's not comparable with the
previous one directly.
- May, 7 1999 General outlook is better then the time she
went to village.
- May, 21 1999 She came to Istanbul for MRI,after 2 weeks
in Istanbul her symptoms come slightly worse. Left eye
movement control nearly lost.
- May, 21 1999 She returned to the village.(Her vegeterian
diet and herbal medicines continues)
- June, 5 1999 Silkay begin to take anvirzel (intra
masculer)
- June, 28 1999 in the second day of anvirzel, she feeled a
motion around neck and showed slight fewer.. This
continued with increase tilll June, 25. We stopped the
anvirzel according to understand the reason of change.
Syptoms decreased in 2 days. We'll continue anvirzel.
- July,2 1999 Doctor, find her very good and also said,
"anvirzel is working".
- July,21 1999 Tiredness at the right hand, we began shark
cartilege.
- July,24 1999 Cartilege caused sudden pains at neck.??
- July, 30 1999 While running, she fall down and hurt her
arm hardly. Her syptoms increased after this event.
Paralysis increased at right hand.
- August , 2 1999 She returned Istanbul, Paralysis appeared
at righ leg. Swallowing difficulty,
- August 10, 1999 New MRI
Grade changed
- August 15, 1999 Paralysis spreading, Difficulty began at
talking ability. She shows resistance taking her
supplements.
- August 18, 1999 We began Decadron, in order to solve
oedema,
- August 20, 1999 She is very sleepy, doesnt want to make
anything.
- August 23, 1999 She is taking IP6, Beta glucan 1-3
d,Vitamin C for five months and also takes milk thistle,
coenzym Q10, Beta Caroten, E vitamin, Grape seed extract-
pycnogenol-MSM. Using anverzil since 15 June 1999 (7
weeks), Using Shark Cartilege Since July 25, orally 1000mg
for one week then anal injection 6 gr two times daily(1
week)
- August 30,1999 Breathing difficulty appeared
- August 31, 1999 Difficulty on taking oral medicines -medicines
cancelled.
- September 1, 1999 Hospitalised for emergency conditions
- September 7, 1999 Beginning radio therapy
- September 15, 1999 Tolaration of radiation is not bad but
depressive medicines makes her down. Decadron and Norodol
had very deppressive effect on her, each time they give
or increase the amount she went down.
- September 24, 1999 She is not better. Eye movement
minimised.
- September 25,1999 We stopped the radiation for a while.
- September 30,1999 After 4 days without radiation, some
syptoms decreased or disappeared. Now she can
communicate, swallow a little, eye movements are normal.
- October 11, 1999 She is doing well. Communicating with
little speak. Swallowing is good. Feeding orally. Send to
home for weekend. Began to take her supplements IP-6, Vit
C, MSM, Beta glucan, Vit E (22nd day of radiation)
- October 18, 1999 Spent her weekend at home. She can eat,
communicate with her doctors. Paralysing syptoms are
decreasing. I think, radiation cought the tumor without
blood vessels, so we had a great success. My opinion is
Anvirzel and shark cartilege have similar
antiangiogenesis effects.
- October 25, 1999 Radiation finished.(5400 + qy ) She had
the 4th
MRI. (MRI
report ). There is a difference in size.It's reduced
- November 16, 1999 Physical Therapy started, Decadron cut
off , reducing within 15 days.
- November 25, 1999 . Physical Therapy is going on. She can
stand, walk with help, more easily talking. Taking her
supplements vit C, Qenzim Q10,Beta Glucan, IP 6, MSM,
Pycnogenol. She has flu, since 7 days.
- December 9. 1999 Vomitting began. Decadron began with 1,5
mg
- December 15,1999 She can not use her legs. Decadron
increased 2,25 mg
- December 28,1999 She can not talk again ! Decadron
increased 3 mg
- January 1, 2000 She went to Diyarbakir . Still taking her
medicines and supplements orally.
- January 4, 2000 Silkay hospitalised
- January 5, 2000 New MRI shows tumor enhancement .
- January 6, 2000 Things getting worse, shunt placed to her
right frontal because of "hidrosefali"
- January 11, 2000 She is in emergency room for 4 days.
Docs are hopeless
- January 20, 2000 Silkay (DX-March 1999 Diffuse Pontine
Glioma) is not with us anymore.
